This week, I edited some music I created in early October, just before my dad’s passing. I’ll schedule it for release in January under my name. In 2023, I mostly released new music on the 1st of the month. Because I release a lot of recordings, I’ve found it best to schedule everything this way as it’s a more efficient way of handling the back-end administrative and promotional things an artist should be doing.
Speaking of “should-do” - I should get back to making and distributing more public playlists. Well, I’ve been busy the past couple of months…
This morning, I woke up wondering if I had at least 1001 ambient tracks released. It’s a dumb number, but one I’ve seen for years by desperate music writers who always publish nonsense like “The 1001 Guitar Solos You Must Hear Before You Die!” What a weird thing to wake up thinking about.
So I decided to craft a Spotify public playlist just for this goofy exercise. I barely made the 1001 count, and here it is, and I’m currently transferring it to Pandora and the other streamer sites:
This playlist was also published on my Playlisting Substack.
On the visual art side, I’m back to processed photographs of scenes rather than stamps.
I’ll get back to the stamps, which I have enjoyed working with.
Stop Local For The Holidays - a tote bag - functional art at the Mark Rushton Gallery
And a fantasy metal print of Des Moines Sculpture Park.
That’s it for this week.
