Mark Rushton’s Abundant Spare Time is a weekly email on Substack where I talk about my ongoing work as a recording artist and visual artist.
This 153rd weekly email is brought to you by the Mark Rushton Gallery, for printed and original artworks. License my music, sound fx, and illustrations at Pond 5 for your creative project. I’m on Bandcamp and all the usual streaming services.
This week’s topics:
Pianos in the Fields of Color
Calmer Feeling - “Floating Skies”
Pianos in the Fields of Color
I just released a new album of instrumental ambient electronics + piano under my Calmer Feeling band name. It’s called Pianos in the Fields of Color. 16 tracks and a little over 44 minutes.
It’s a collaboration with me on the processed electronics and Florida-based composer and producer Eric Copeland on piano.
The album is such a beautiful group of recordings. At this point in time, it’s difficult for me to say more about the project. All I can say is that Eric’s piano really transformed my sonic backgrounds.
It’s on all the streaming services. It’s on Bandcamp. It should be on some radio stations in the coming weeks. I’ve already got tracks in playlists I curate on various streaming services.
Otherwise, a very busy week for me. I’ll talk more in next week’s Post.
